They are Mayflies. Very short lived adult form of them anyway, and probably the first of many swarms over the next month or two until next year.

You are right, there are plenty of cameras at events like weddings, parties, graduations, etc. The problem with not bringing your own camera though, is that everyone that took pictures usually got pretty crappy shots, i.e. camera shake, blurriness, crooked, etc. The few decent pictures they DID manage to capture are then extremely hard to get ahold of: "Oh yea, I'll email them to you when I get home...." turns into "Oh those wedding pictures? Damn, I think they got deleted... sorry bro."

From what I understand, people don't throw rice at weddings much anymore because they're concerned about stupid birds choking on the stuff. Everyone wants to be "green" nowadays because it's the "trendy" thing to do; not too long ago everyone was buying an SUV because it was "trendy." Personally, I will probably always consider an SUV first if I can afford it, because I like the better visibility it offers, not to mention the storage/towing capacity and better crash protection of most models. Yes, there are plenty of safe cars out there, but if God told me I was going to be in a wreck tomorrow and gave me a choice of driving a Ford Excursion or a Ford Escort, I'd pick the former.

I've gone ice-skating a couple times in my life. It's pretty much like roller-blading, and yes, it IS easier the faster you go. Not sure what law of physics is at work there...

You gonna watch the LSU championship game tomorrow somewhere? Wish you could watch it over here. I'm going to record it on my PC as well, for posterity. LSU's going to completely own Ohio. LSU got there by actually playing well. Ohio got there by a series of flukes. Man will I feel stupid if LSU loses...

Please please please refrain from linking directly to my blog. The spike in traffic is killing my server. It's like the digg effect, but it's the Benard effect. :)

(My wife) Jen and I tried to go ice skating downtown a few weeks back. It was a particularly warm weekend, and the rink was quite literally a pond. Kids were "skating" around on it anyway, and the owners were happily taking their money to let them do so. I was sad, both because there was nothing to skate on and because people were paying money to run around in 3 inches of water.

You asked about adding/removing disks with Windows Home Server. When adding a disk, after you physically plug it in you just browse to the disk management screen on the WHS console and it appears there as a new disk. Right click to add it and WHS will format the disk then add it to the volume. Want to remove the disk? Right click, remove, and it will migrate the data onto the other disks. Of course, that's assuming the other disks have the free space to bear the load. I haven't done this, but I will soon because I'm interested to see how long it takes.

There are add-ins to make WHS a DNS and DHCP server. I haven't tried them, but I'm considering it. Having it act as a domain controller is out of the question AFAIK.

If I have time today, I'm going to nuke my laptop and attempt to restore it from the backup on the WHS just to see how smoothly that process may go. I'll keep you posted.

No comment on the Wesley Crusher. LOL ;-)

However, I agree that the Doctor is one of the best characters in the Star Trek universe. "Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy" is one of my favorite "Doctor" episodes; however, I also love "Latent Image" and "Someone to Watch Over Me."

Is it possible to reply to comments you left? Cause...I can't figure out how to do that.

You liking Wesley is hilarious because 99.9999999% of Star Trek fans hate him.

You like him better than Q? How is that even possible?
