Today, at 3 PM at the Randle T. Moore Center, Joey and Natalie got married! I got to witness it all, and it’s pretty weird to think about "Natalie Wall", but I’m extremely happy for them both. I’m sure I’ll add pictures to this post later when I have some. I didn’t bring my camera, but there were plenty there. I wore fancy clothes that I never wear, so that’s always fun, but those fancy shoes hurt my back a lot.
I helped mess up Joey’s car and that was a lot of fun and then we didn’t get to throw anything at them! They only had bubbles! I wanted to hit Joey with rice really hard! Oh well. I think they’re going to Rexburg, Idaho now for a gathering with Natalie’s family or something.
After the wedding, for which the reception ended around 7:15 PM, Chris, Jen, and I went ice skating downtown. That was fun? I’m not sure, really. I think
I had fun, but I also got cold and wet. Overall, I guess it was fun. Chris did really well, because he has rollerbladed a lot. Jen and I sucked hard at it. It’s a lot easier when you go faster though. I fell a couple of times because I tried to go too fast and the first time I fell on my butt and my wallet pressed into my ass and my ass still hurts from it. Ouch.
The second time I fell was because a little kid was going the wrong way and we had an unavoidable (due to my lack of control over direction) collision and I fell on my knee that time and did a nice little twirl around my knee that looked like a trick one might do on purpose, if not for getting wet at the same time. That little kid tried to make me run into him again, but the second time as we were about to collide, I just picked him up. That cracks me up. So instead of us colliding, it was just me taking him in the direction I was going until he could get his footing again and then I put him back down and he almost fell again! He pretty much just fell from place to place on the ice. It was cute.
Update: Jen blogged about our adventure too.
I’d also like to point out that Seth blogged again, thanks in no small part to Windows Live Writer. It’s an amazing tool, and I’d really recommend it to everyone that blogs.

Please please please refrain from linking directly to my blog. The spike in traffic is killing my server. It’s like the digg effect, but it’s the Benard effect.
(My wife) Jen and I tried to go ice skating downtown a few weeks back. It was a particularly warm weekend, and the rink was quite literally a pond. Kids were “skating” around on it anyway, and the owners were happily taking their money to let them do so. I was sad, both because there was nothing to skate on and because people were paying money to run around in 3 inches of water.
You asked about adding/removing disks with Windows Home Server. When adding a disk, after you physically plug it in you just browse to the disk management screen on the WHS console and it appears there as a new disk. Right click to add it and WHS will format the disk then add it to the volume. Want to remove the disk? Right click, remove, and it will migrate the data onto the other disks. Of course, that’s assuming the other disks have the free space to bear the load. I haven’t done this, but I will soon because I’m interested to see how long it takes.
There are add-ins to make WHS a DNS and DHCP server. I haven’t tried them, but I’m considering it. Having it act as a domain controller is out of the question AFAIK.
If I have time today, I’m going to nuke my laptop and attempt to restore it from the backup on the WHS just to see how smoothly that process may go. I’ll keep you posted.
You are right, there are plenty of cameras at events like weddings, parties, graduations, etc. The problem with not bringing your own camera though, is that everyone that took pictures usually got pretty crappy shots, i.e. camera shake, blurriness, crooked, etc. The few decent pictures they DID manage to capture are then extremely hard to get ahold of: “Oh yea, I’ll email them to you when I get home….” turns into “Oh those wedding pictures? Damn, I think they got deleted… sorry bro.”
From what I understand, people don’t throw rice at weddings much anymore because they’re concerned about stupid birds choking on the stuff. Everyone wants to be “green” nowadays because it’s the “trendy” thing to do; not too long ago everyone was buying an SUV because it was “trendy.” Personally, I will probably always consider an SUV first if I can afford it, because I like the better visibility it offers, not to mention the storage/towing capacity and better crash protection of most models. Yes, there are plenty of safe cars out there, but if God told me I was going to be in a wreck tomorrow and gave me a choice of driving a Ford Excursion or a Ford Escort, I’d pick the former.
I’ve gone ice-skating a couple times in my life. It’s pretty much like roller-blading, and yes, it IS easier the faster you go. Not sure what law of physics is at work there…
You gonna watch the LSU championship game tomorrow somewhere? Wish you could watch it over here. I’m going to record it on my PC as well, for posterity. LSU’s going to completely own Ohio. LSU got there by actually playing well. Ohio got there by a series of flukes. Man will I feel stupid if LSU loses…
