Shawn, I do plan to report it to the manager, but I think I'll have to wait until after Christmas. If I don't get any satisfaction from the manager, I'll go higher up the chain. I'm sure none of them will care, if Firestone's corporate history is any indicator. I'm just some guy on the Internet.

This is the worst example of customer service i've heard of. Are you planning to report this to the owner/manager of the location? Or maybe to the parent company? Also, firestone has told me in the past that as long as i provided a reciept showing that i purchased new tires they would gladly mount and balance them for me.

Exactly--they're a business; therefore therefore they ought to practice better customer service if they expect to make any money. Even though they didn't have the filter for your car, he could have told you in a nicer and more apologetic way. I hope you made it clear to him why they weren't making money on that sale.

I had the same problem with Firestone. They took my car in for an oil change, didnt have the filter, had to order it. In the meantime they tried to jam a filter they had in stock into my car. I was not happy. It took about 2 hours and cost 2x as much as any other place in town. I too will never go back.

Ouch. That sucks.

The Firestone guy ranks among my least favorite Bachelors, if that helps.
