I've been to Los Angeles, CA once for work, and THEIR traffic is a sight to behold. They make any other city seem tame by comparison, at least in my week's experience there. In CA, for example, it's perfectly legal for motorcycles to ride between the lanes, between cars in other words. They also have a lot of highways everywhere like Texas, and the people drive murderously fast. You haven't seen a highway until you've been to Los Angeles with their 8-lane highways running both directions (16 lanes total). And yet they still have congestion.

This post just reinforces why I moved away from Baton Rouge. I felt like I was missing out on a lot; that there were bigger things out there. I've only been here in TX for six months and I'm planning on staying here a long time, maybe permanently.

A new car!! Very exciting! :-)

Your post almost makes me want to go to Dallas and be a tourist. I've never really done that before. Except I'd skip Six Flags.

Colorado Springs is about the same size as Shreveport and it had THE WORST TRAFFIC of anywhere I have ever been, including San Diego. I had to sit still on the interstate every single day on the way home from work.

I went to Six Flags a while back, and those rides are pretty kick ass. BUT I also went to Universal, and it definitely trumps Six Flags any day. You should check it out!
