Absolutely DO NOT use Overstock. They make NO guarantees for “processing” time and they will not cancel your order. They have the worst customer support. Stick to Amazon or you will regret it.

i hate overstock.com, they took an order for a book that i wanted. they charged my account for the book. than 3 days later, they e-mailed me to let me know that the book would not be sent out for a month. 1 week before the book was to ship out, i get another e-mail that the order was cancelled and they would refund the money. when i called them, they told me that too many people had ordered the book. so why did they take my money if they couldn’t get me the book at all. i will never use overstock.com again. and i hope that no one else will either. if that is how they conduct business, they need to go out of business.
that’s why i’m going back to using Amizon.com

i am in the midst of an extremely unsatisfactory purchase of a mattress set from overstock; price wasn’t great, but delivery free and i was sending it to my brother (who was recently diagnosed w/ 2 cancers and his wife left him, taking their bed). they called him and set up delivery for 2/25, my brother took off work, no mattress set/no phone call to explain why. all my ‘live chats’ have resulted in nothing but frustration. all my requests to have a supervisor contact me via e-mail or phone have produced nothing but silence. i have twice filled out the survey saying i’m extremely unhappy and want a live person to contact me immediately, again, lots of silence. any ideas on how to get them to respond?

I bought a wi-fi card on overstock.com. They applied the same pressure tactics to me as well. I’ve never seen a website operate in such a weird way.

Never though of it that way. But I can tell you that I did a great deal of my holiday shopping on Overstock! And I did order one of those things that said ‘Almost Sold Out’, and I’ll be damned if it didn’t sell out. Truly sucks when that happens, but for my trouble they gave me a $5 coupon for my next purchase, which was nice. =)
